- There's great joy in knowing that you are saved by grace, through faith, in Jesus Christ. Imagine...we don't have to do anything to earn God's love--because it's all about grace--made real for us in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus! I am truly blessed to bring this Good News to all as one of the pastors at First Lutheran Church in DeKalb, IL. I love this job! After serving eleven years as a police officer and practicing law for fifteen years as an attorney, I attended Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa, graduating with a Master of Divinity in 2007. Following ordination, I was installed as associate pastor at First Lutheran on July 1, 2007. I live in DeKalb with my wife, Jean, and our two children, Ben and Calla.
