All are welcome at First Lutheran, an active and friendly congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). Please join us as we celebrate 150 years of ministry and mission!
Every week, we gather for worship around word and sacrament, Christian education for all ages, friendly conversation and fun.
Sunday morning worship in our sanctuary usually includes music by our adult choir, hand bell choir and our children. A children's message is included every Sunday.
During the Christian education hour, classes, discussion groups and forums are offered for all ages. Or just grab a cup of coffee and join in the friendly conversation in the social hall and atrium following the worship service.
When First Lutheran Church was founded in 1858, all the services were in Swedish. Above the altar in the worship room can still be found the words: "Saliga äro de som höra Gud's ord och gömma det"
Cross Walk Wednesdays - Faith Formation is a fun time of food, fellowship, and music for the whole family to enjoy together. Join us from 5:30-7:30 on Wednesday evenings for this family event.
Come and sing with the choir! New singers are always welcome as we lead the congregation in songs of praise and thanksgiving to the Lord! Join us for practice on Thursdays at 7:30 PM and Sundays at 8:00AM in the Music Room.
Come & see! Guests are always welcome! We are located at: 324 North Third Street, DeKalb, Illinois 60115 At the corner of North Third and Pine in downtown DeKalb.
